Thank you everyone SO much! The past month was a bit crazy between 2 finals weeks and a week-long retreat with my chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, but donations have been slowly pouring in to eMi's office. As of Thursday night, all of the donations and verbal pledges have put me at my fund-raising goal. Praise the Lord!
Last night, I was commissioned by New Covenant Bible Church (thank you church family!) and I'll be leaving for India this Friday afternoon. I'm extremely excited! I've been reading up on Indian history and the religious atmosphere and have learned that only 2.4% of the 1.067 billion people in India are Christians. I'm praying that God brings people across my path who have never met a Christian before and that I could represent Christ well!
I expect to have limited access to the internet for the first three weeks of my trip, during which I will be living in Hyderabad with the children of the El Rohi center and my team from eMi. Our accommodations, from what I understand, will be far from luxurious, but I honestly look forward to living alongside the kids we are serving. We were instructed to bring a roll of toilet paper and plenty of wet wipes. :) I'm sure it'll bring back fond memories of Mexico trips with NCBC.
I will write as soon as I can once I arrive in India! Please pray for safe travels this weekend and that God would keep me healthy throughout the trip.
